What classes do you offer?


We currently offer classes for preschool-8th grade. 

Here is a list of our multi-age classrooms: 

  • Preschool- (3 & 4-year-olds)

  • 6th-8th Grade


How large are class sizes?


The class sizes at Cross Lutheran School currently range from 12-20 students. This allows for an ideal student-to-teacher ratio and allows for optimal individualized instruction and attention. 


Do you have to be Lutheran to attend Cross Lutheran School?

We encourage families to attend their home church.  We invite families without a church home to attend Cross Lutheran Church.  We are a Christian school, and we teach the Christian values and principles found in the Bible.


When is preschool offered?

We offer two, three, and four-day preschool programs in the morning.  Click here to find out more about our Preschool.  


Do you offer childcare?


Yes, we have full-day childcare for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.  We also have before and after school care for older students.  Click here for more information.



What extracurricular opportunities do students have?

Cross Lutheran School has a basketball team for students in 3rd-8th grades. There is a VEX Robotics Club for students in grades 3-8.  We also participate in several events each year with neighboring Christian schools.  Our students are also eligible to participate in many extracurricular activities (athletics, clubs, after school programs, etc.) at Laker Schools and other area public schools.


Is bus transportation provided for students?

Yes. If you live within the Laker School District, you can receive free transportation by bus to and from Cross Lutheran School.  If you live outside the district, transportation is available through Thumb Area Transit (TAT).


What kind of testing is used?

We use NWEA Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) testing.  K-8 students take the MAP tests three times per year.

Do you offer music and band programs?  

 Yes. Each week our DK-5th grade students attend two music classes.           We have our own band program for students in grades 5-8, who       participate in classes two days per week.


When can I schedule a time to visit and tour the school?

When can I register my children?

Students may be registered at any time of the year.


How do I register?

You can download registration forms for DK-8th GradePreschool and Childcare on our website or pick them up at the school office. There is a $50 registration fee for each DK-8 registration and a $35 fee for preschool and childcare registration.  Registrations can be submitted in person, by mail, or email.


Are scholarships or other forms of tuition assistance available?

Yes.  Tuition costs can be reduced through scholarships, fundraisers, and participation in the Scrip program.  Click here for more information about tuition assistance.


How much is tuition?

For non-members of Cross Lutheran Church, the yearly cost of tuition for DK-8 students is $2,450 per year for one child and $1,550 for each additional child. There are discounted rates for church members.  The cost for Preschool is based on the number of days per week a student attends classes. Click herefor more information.
