What are the class sizes and groupings?
The class sizes at Cross Lutheran School typically range from 10-15 students. Each classroom is made up of three grade levels: Kindergarten-2nd grade, 3rd-5th grade, and 6th-8th grade. We also have a preschool program
Do you have to be Lutheran to attend Cross Lutheran School?
No. In fact, no church affiliation is required. We are a Christian school, and we teach the Christian values and principles found in the Bible.
When is preschool offered?
We offer two, three, and four-day preschool programs in the afternoon. Click here to find out more about our Preschool.
What extracurricular opportunities do students have?
Cross Lutheran School has a basketball team for students in 3rd-8th grades. There is a VEX Robotics Club for students in grades 6-8. We also participate in several events each year with neighboring Christian schools. Our students are also eligible to participate in some extracurricular activities (athletics, clubs, after school programs, etc.) at Laker Schools.
Is there bussing for students?
Yes. If you live within the Laker School District, you can receive free bussing to and from Cross Lutheran School. If you live outside the district, transportation is available through Thumb Area Transit (TAT).
What kind of testing is used?
We use NWEA Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) testing. All K-8 students take the MAP tests three times per year.

Do you offer music and band programs?
Yes. There are two 45-minute music periods provided for K-5 students each week. We have our own band program for students in grades 5-8, who participate in band classes two days per week.
When can I schedule a time to visit and tour the school?

When can I register my children?
Students may be registered at any time of the year.
How do I register?
You can download registration forms for Preschool and K-8 on our website or pick them up at the school office. There is a $50 registration fee for each K-8 registration and a $35 fee for preschool registration. Registrations can be submitted in person, by mail, or email.
Are scholarships or other forms of tuition assistance available?
Yes. Tuition costs can be reduced through scholarships, fundraisers, and participation in the Scrip program. Click here for more information about tuition assistance.
How much is tuition?
For non-members of Cross Lutheran Church, the yearly cost of tuition for K-8 students is $1,750 per year for one child and $800 for each additional child. The cost for Preschool is based on the number of days per week a student attends classes. Click here for more information.
